12 Tips for how to wash hair properly


1. Rinse properly before applying shampoo:


It is very necessary for our hair that they are soaked well with water before applying shampoo. Take at least one minute to rinse them before shampooing. Always use warm water for the purpose. Because warm water will make the cuticles of hair opened up and the shampoo can do its job properly.  

2. Don’t leave shampoo in the hair for long time: 


Never let your shampoo sit in your hair for long time. After giving a gentle massage to your hair for nice 1-2 minutes, rinse the shampoo out of the hair.

3. Squeeze excess water before conditioning: 


We usually have habit of quickly applying condition after rinsing out the shampoo from hair. Which is totally wrong. If we apply conditioner on hair that have lot of water then the conditioner would not soak well in the hair. And the necessary nutrients that our hair need from conditioner would not be carried out. So, always squeeze the excess water from the hair before conditioning.

4. Avoid removing tangling in between shower or from wet hair: 


Our hairs are extremely weak on the time when they are wet. And on that time, don’t try to brush your hair or try to remove the tangles with help of fingers. Because, it can cause breaking of hair. Some people start removing the tangles in between the shower, which should be completely avoided.
Avoid using excess amount of shampoo: It’s a common myth that our hair needs a lot of lather to be get cleaned. That’s why, most of us use shampoo more than needed. The truth is that a lot of lather is not so required to clean your hair. In fact overuse of shampoo can cause drying of scalp and hair.

5. Avoid Shampooing Twice: 


Opposite to popular belief, there is no need of shampooing twice before conditioning. Shampooing twice can take out natural oils from our hair and scalp. Thus our scalp can results in dry, itchy and flaky. This will negatively affect the growth of hair and can trigger damage.

6. Avoid Hot water: 


The hair cuticles don’t seal properly after conditioning and using hot water in such a delicate time can extract the moisture out of the cuticles. This can result in dry hair that is more susceptible to breakage and hair loss. So, always rinse out your conditioner with cold water. Because cold water snap the cuticles shut and locks all of the clean, fresh moisture.

7. Avoid applying conditioner on the scalp: 


One of the most common mistake people do is applying conditioner to their scalp. Conditioner is deeply nourishing, and so by applying a layer to your roots, can cause them greasy, sooner. Our scalp is already naturally conditioned with natural oils that our hair produces. However, as the ends are far from the scalp, so they need a little extra care. That’s why you should apply the conditioner here.

8. Let your conditioner soak into or good time: 


Make sure that you are letting your conditioner soak into your locks for good enough minutes. You should leave the conditioner for 8-10 minutes in your hair.

9. Avoid tight rubbing of hair while shampooing: 


Be gentle, never scrub your hair and always avoid tight circular motions. After all, you do not want to damage or break the cuticles of your hair.

10. Dilute you shampoo with water rather than applying direct on hair: 


Never use shampoo directly to the scalp as it can dry our scalp. As an alternative, you can mix it with some water. This will make sure that the shampoo is spreading evenly all through your scalp. This will also ensure that you are using much lesser shampoo than you would apply it directly.

11. Avoid daily washing of hair: 


There is no need for our hair to wash them on daily basis. Because washing them every single day can take out natural oils from our hair and scalp. Thus our scalp can results in dry, itchy, flaky and our hair can become dull and prone to splits. Many people complaints that their hair becomes greasy or oily If they don’t shampoo on daily basis.This usually happen because our scalp produces sebum or natural oil, which protects and conditions our scalp and hair. When we shampoo too much our scalp goes into panic mode. And start producing excess sebum to maintain the natural balance of scalp which results in greasy scalp. So, try to avoid daily shampooing of hair.

12. Do oiling before shampooing:  


Shampooing and conditioning is not just enough or hair. They can’t give enough moisture to our hair and scalp. So, to get adequate moisture oiling o hair and scalp must so that our hair can get sufficient nutrients. You can also  mix two or more oil together rather than using single oil on hair or getting better result.
